Perform pretreatment tests on unsealed surface mount packages to determine moisture absorption integrity. This is a very important test. Most packaging certification programs require that equipment be pre-treated before it is subjected to temperature cycling, thermal shock, HAST, temperature humidity, and pressure tank testing.

The purpose of this test is to determine the ability of the package to withstand rapid changes in temperature in an air environment. According to the test requirements, a special system capable of generating hot and cold air is used. All parts under pressure during the test must pass the electrical test before and after the test can be successfully completed.
The purpose of this test is to determine the ability of the package to withstand sudden and rapid temperature changes in a liquid environment. Special systems with two inert fluorocarbon baths are used, which can generate hot and cold air according to the test requirements.
The autoclave test is an environmental test used to measure the moisture resistance of the equipment. The test conditions are performed on JESD22A-102 using the following test conditions at 121°C/100%RH relative humidity, pressure and moisture condensation.
High-temperature/low-temperature storage testing is usually used to determine the effect of time and temperature under storage conditions on the thermally activated failure mechanism and the failure time distribution of solid-state electronic devices. This test can be destructive, depending on time, temperature and packaging (if any).
This test is conducted to evaluate the reliability of unsealed IC devices in humid environments. Temperature, humidity and bias conditions are applied to accelerate the penetration of moisture through the external protective material or along the interface between the external protective material and the metal conductor passing through it.
