Styrene butadiene rubber (SBR), also known as polystyrene butadiene copolymer, is made by emulsion copolymerization of butadiene and styrene. SBR is a water-based binder which is mainly used to prepare anode electrode for lithium-ion batteries with strong adhesion and high ageing-retardant. Moreover, when used with carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC), it is a trending binder for silicon-based electrode which improves the cycling performance. Alfa Chemistry offers high-quality SBR.
